3.1 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website or use a web-based application. They are widely used to make platforms function correctly, improve performance, and deliver a personalized user experience. Cookies do not contain executable code and cannot access other files on your device.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage objects, and session tokens. This policy covers all such technologies collectively.
3.2 Types of Cookies We Use
3.2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They are set in response to actions you take such as logging in, completing a form, or making a payment. Without these cookies, core Platform functions would not work.
Examples of strictly necessary cookies used by Cradle:
- Session authentication tokens that keep you logged in during an active session
- Security tokens used to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks
- Load balancing cookies that route your requests to the correct server
- Cookies that store your language or region preference
3.2.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how users interact with the Platform by collecting aggregated, anonymized information. We use this data to improve platform performance, identify errors, and prioritize feature development.
Analytics information we collect includes:
- Which pages and modules are accessed most frequently
- Time spent on each section of the Platform
- Error rates and crash reports
- Device type, operating system, and browser version
You may opt out of analytics cookies through the Cookie Preference Center without affecting your ability to use the Platform.
3.2.3 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies enable enhanced features and personalization. They remember your preferences and settings so that you do not have to re-enter them every time you use the Platform. Examples include:
- Saved dashboard widget layout and display preferences
- Selected date ranges and filter configurations on analytics panels
- Remembered language and display preferences
3.2.4 Third-Party and Integration Cookies
Certain third-party services integrated into the Platform may set their own cookies. Cradle does not control these cookies. Third-party cookie usage includes:
- Payment processor cookies set by Stripe, PayPal, or ACH processing integrations to facilitate secure payment flows
- Customer support widget cookies to track open and historical support interactions
We recommend reviewing the cookie policies of each third-party service for full details.
3.3 How Long Do Cookies Last?
Cookies are classified by their lifespan:
- Session Cookies: These are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser or end your session. Most authentication and security cookies are session cookies.
- Persistent Cookies: These remain on your device for a defined period, ranging from a few days to one year, even after you close the browser. They are used for preference retention and analytics.
3.4 Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several options for controlling cookies:
Cookie Preference Center
When you first access the Platform, you will be presented with a Cookie Consent Banner that allows you to accept all cookies, reject optional cookies, or customize your preferences by category. You may revisit and update your preferences at any time by navigating to Settings > Cookie Preferences within the Platform.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will impair Platform functionality.
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies and site permissions
Opt-Out of Analytics
To opt out of analytics tracking, you may use browser-level privacy tools or the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal supported by certain browsers. We honor GPC signals where technically feasible.
3.5 Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers transmit a Do Not Track (DNT) signal to websites. Because there is no universal standard for how DNT signals should be interpreted, our Platform does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals. If a binding standard is established, we will update this policy accordingly.
3.6 Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves or as legal requirements change. We will notify you of significant updates through the Platform or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
